It is looking extremely likely that Pang De has indeed been cut. There was a rumor list somebody had leaked that listed names of new characters we'd be getting and that Pang De and Zuo Ci would not be returning. So far, the leak has been correct about all of the new characters (even Lian Shi) so it looks like it's pretty accurate. I'd say there's a high chance that we are not getting Pang De back this time around.

Wei has so few characters, yet they still won in the end. I'm ignoring Jin at the moment.

That would be awesome. A good friend of mine, who is also a fellow musou fangirl, plans to visit sometime this summer. One of my main motivations to get DW7 at all is for the lulz with her and other old school DW-loving friends who share my disgruntlement over the ruination. She and I had a lot of fun with DW6: Empires. My spousal unit would hide downstairs in his man cave and play MMO's through all our squeeing.

I had enough fun with Strikeforce - which was all gameplay, minimal story and characterization - that I suspect I would enjoy the weapon switching just for the variety of pwnination and the amusement of awkward weapon choices. I've also been writing enough about Dynasty Warriors series appeal, my hopes for a reboot, and my thoughts on DW7 so far that I feel like I should cap it off with a comprehensive review and/or rant. There's also the joy of snarking it with my friends.

Exactly. I feel sad because I like Wei a lot. They have only 1 new (awesome) character: Jia Xu (I don't count Cai Wenji as "new") minus Sima Yi AND Pang De.
At least, I hope that doesn't mean Wei will have less stages than other Kingdoms in Kindgom Musou... mmh

I don't really have anything against Bao Sanniang. Well, I don't mind her inclusion because, the more characters the merrier?
But why Pang De! He is not a fictional character and has all the reasons to belong in. That's a huge disappointment. When Koei said "cut characters" will return, everyone thought all of them will but they put Pand De aside once again.

Ma Dai is amazing and he may end up as my favorite Shu character as well. Considering I hate where they've taken Liu Bei since DW6...

Yeah, Wei is awesome and amazing and my second favorite kingdom because I have a serious Shu bias. Jia Xu is probably one of the most promising new adds. I am so looking forward to him. And I totally forgot that Wei lost Sima Yi... so they should have like, at least one other new character to replace him. :| Plus Pang De.

I don't think I'm going to be playing this game since the sixth one SUCKED...SO...BAD DX. I'll just look at the reviews to see if it's worth getting it.

I hope I'm not late to reply. I'm sorry if I'm late and you already knew about this. Lian Shi is Sun Quan's wife in the history of Han Dynasty, but I don't know in the game. I read in DW7 official website that Lian Shi is Sun Shang Xiang's companion and also a guard, I hope Lian Shi in this game is more than that. I want her to be Sun Quan's beloved wife, just like in the history. Not just a mere guard for Sun Shang Xiang.
