In the early third century, the land of Wu is invaded by the warlord Cao Cao and his million soldiers. The ruler of Wu, Sun Quan, calls on the rival warlord Liu Bei for help, but their two armies are still badly outnumbered. However, the Wu strategist Zhou Yu sees that Cao Cao's army is unused to battling on the sea, which may just give them a chance if they can exploit this weakness properly. Written by rmlohner

In 208 A.D., in the final days of the Han Dynasty, shrewd Prime Minster Cao Cao convinced the fickle Emperor Han the only way to unite all of China was to declare war on the kingdoms of Xu in the west and East Wu in the south. Thus began a military campaign of unprecedented scale, led by the Prime Minister, himself. Left with no other hope for survival, the kingdoms of Xu and East Wu formed an unlikely alliance. Numerous battles of strength and wit ensued, both on land and on water, eventually culminating in the battle of Red Cliff. During the battle, two thousand ships were burned, and the course of Chinese history was changed forever. Written by Anonymous

According to Amazon it is in fact available on DVD as well. There is also the international version which has it as it originally was two movies. I can't wait till I physically own this. These are beautiful movies.

It's on DVD, too. YesAsia has it but no picture of the cover.

I really need it. I have both parts of the original, un-cut version, but HOW often to I get to see my favourite anywhere in store here??

Each time I see copies of House of Flying Daggers (both the movie and OST) and Onimusha just sit there looking lonely, I wanna buy them!! I have all of them but it just makes me SAD to see them NOT have a home!! ;_;

Completely off-topic: since you're a big Kaneshiro fan and I always see you around, did you watch his movie Lavender? What did you think of it?

Pole dancing.

Massage.

The fact that he can multitask: smoke, drink, clean house.

And the apple slices.

LOLing at Zhou Yu's face. Gosh, you could screencap the whole movie and I would still love every single scene... though my particular favorite ones are the arrows scene (Take-chan drinking a tea and bending to the left, LOL), Zhuge Liang showing Zhou Yu around (specially Zhang Fei's "DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN") and this one: http://www.fotolog.com.br/chikyu_star/69660274

Did you know? During that epic night battle, the moment the wind kicked in, he "fell" backwards? They did that take a few times.

See, another take was: the wind was SO strong, it blew open his garments and um.. he.. forgot he was filming said scene and.. wasn't properly dressed under it. ;)

NOT TRUE but, people who know me well know that I make up things like that on the spot.
