More DW7 scans revealed last night/this morning!

This morning is a great morning. Four new characters revealed for Dynasty Warriors 7 and two returning characters also revealed!



Ma Dai for Shu. Apparently he fights with a... brush? Will be interesting to say the least!


DENG AI DENG AI DENG AI WHOOOOO. I will admit I'm pretty shocked by his appearance. Was expecting something much younger-looking to match Jiang Wei, his rival. He will be in the Jin kingdom


Guo Hai and Zhong Hui for Jin. Guo Hai = Kanbei?


Jiang Wei and Sima Yi. Jiang Wei is keeping his MR2 design, but it looks like either his old weapon or a slightly new one. Sima Yi is now a part of Jin rather than Wei and has his feather fan back.

I also can kinda picture Zhong Hui x Jiang Wei. According to Kongming.net, Jiang Wei defected to Wei because he had no other means to survive, then tried to rebel against Wei along with Zhong Hui and both got killed in the process because they didn't have any support. I may have read it wrong, though.

And HELL YEAH, KURODA KANBEI IS THE FIRST PERSON WHOM I THOUGHT OF WHEN I SAW GUO HAI.

Interesting. I'm not so knowledgeable about ROTK past DW stories and interpretations so it'll be interesting to see if they incorporate that into DW7 somehow.

...Ok, Koei, Koei, Koei... WTF?

Ma Dai- what in the world is he wearing? And WHY? If they're going for "artist" they could have done better... I was hoping for Ma Dai as a character, too...
Deng Ai- Cool, actually like this. It's a nice break from the mass of pretty-boys Jin is turning into. Plus, another good character to have.
Guo Hai- Oh, hello there Kanbei. You seem to be a bit lost.
Zhong Hui- I would talk about how terrible this is, but words and macros both fail me. UGH.
Jiang Wei- Nice to have you back. We missed you greatly.
Sima Yi- Besides the pallet swap and the spiffier hat, it's pretty much the same old Sima Yi. Would have been nice to see him a bit older, but I think he looks fine as he is.

tl;dr Koei, it was refreshingly new and a nice change of pace at first. You have taken it too far. PLEASE STOP.

AMEN TO ALL OF THIS. I hate them all except Deng Ai - his stupid try-too-hard-to-be-gangsta headband aside, he's a badass. If he's in Jin, he's seriously out of place though; they're all a bunch of whorish pussies so far.

Everyone else is either ridiculous or ugly as sin, or both (Ma Dai seriously wtf ew ew ewwwwwwwwwww). And I'm glad I'm not the only one who just sat here thinking "Errr... Kanbei?"

It's all getting a little too OTT, and OU for my liking now.

Deng Ai is a refreshing change of pace compared to the other super pretty character designs, even if his design totally caught me off guard. While I've grown to like some of the new designs, I definitely agree with you on the other Jin guys. Well, that's how I feel about more than half of Jin in general, to be honest...

The only one I really hate is Zhong Hui. His hair is just terrible. I wondered for like five whole minutes if it was a boy or a girl. He looks like he belongs in Bladestorm, not Dynasty Warriors.

I still have to mention Ma Dai's hat. What is up with that? His costume could definitely use some serious work. :| I suppose if Zhen Ji can beat people up with a flute then he is allowed to beat people up with a brush.

LOL I think we're a couple of the few that really like Ma Dai's design. Definitely not very Chinese-like, but most of the designs aren't at this point, so I've given up on caring about that at this point. :|

Jiang Wei does look good. More mature than previously, kind of like with Cai Wenji and Da Qiao.

ha? not chinesse like? but i think it chinesse enough, becauese i've seen the hat and the attire in kung-fu(taiwanesse)-comic its like attire from some tribe, and if we look at ma's family background, they close to some tribes n china right? but maybe its just my opinion though.

maybe koei bring the not-so-chinesse-design to makeover this series in more modern way lol... but yeah, some jin's officer design kinda scared me because it screamed "ME EUROPE" -_-;

I'm right there with you. I'm interested to goof around with that paintbrush weapon because it sounds like it might be as fun as Zhen Ji's flute. Other than that - meh. Ma Dai's outfit isn't bad, I guess, but I'm not enthused by any of these designs. Deng Ai seems especially strange. I expected him to have a rough yet refined look similar to Lu Meng, who was also damn good at his job and worked his way up from an unprivileged background. Instead he looks like a DW6: Empires CAW who's going to sound like the secret offspring of Wei Yan and Xu Zhu. I know he stuttered. I can only hope that won't be his gimmick.

Plus, I'm biased and want to see Cao Ren so I can finish drawing him.

Wow. I'm going to miss Sima Yi's nails things. And Jiang Wei looks good. Always thought he was trying to hard to look like Zhao Yun, but he's the best here.

Zhong Hui makes me laugh uncontrollably. Him and Zhang He are going to have a BLAST I bet. They look like they'd be total BFFs.

The paintbrush thing is going to be either laughable-horrible, or laughable-great.

Agreed about Jiang Wei. Always loved his designs, but I think this hairstyle looks best on him.

I'm hoping the paintbrush will be laughable-great. It's an absolutely absurd weapon, but maybe that's why I'm secretly looking forward to it.

Burp. Yum~ Never cared of him as character but that designnn is so worth eating. I feel shallow and quite stupid.

So may new things at the same time strip me always from clear thoughts and clever words. I always liked Kanbei and Kotaro, so having more creepy gray skinned guys makes me all enthusiastic. Blue is not yer color Sima Yi - put your violet rags back, thank you.
