Is it me or I can't bond with Ling Tong playing as Gan Ning? O_o

I'm playing the DW7 game at the teahouse as Ning and Ling Tong's name isn't in the list of characters to bond with! Anyone else noticed that?

I believe it doesn't matter which character you're playing with, you can make bonds with any character using any character. Is Ling Tong available as a Sworn Friend? If not, just go to the Merchant, see if his name shows up in the list and buy him. If you can't find it, just exit the town, enter another town that has a merchant and give it another shot.

Reinforcements are sorted out by town, so the merchant will always have the same set of names for the same city. Ling Tong will be available if you go to Xu Province.

Depending on the level you are, just doing his Legend Mode will also unlock him as a sworn ally. I just keep doing the Xuchang mission, since I want to increase several bonds all at once.

I gave myself this whole methodical system of maxing bonds, kingdom by kingdom, changing up battlefields depending on what faction I wanted to get a commander from, et cetera. It was fabulously nerdy.

I was more like "screw this, I just want the trophy anyway", picked someone from Shu + someone I wanted to grind and kept going to Conflict in Xuchang like crazy. I maxed all bonds with the entire Jin Kingdom without putting a single Jin person as a sworn friend. =D

Are you sure you've unlocked him as an ally? I haven't really used Gan Ning much in conquest mode, but who you're playing as shouldn't have any effect on who you can bring as an ally. Even if you pick characters who historically hated each others' guts, you usually just get a special arrival quote from one of them instead and that's it.

Problem solved ya'll: After a battle and bonded with already maxed out Ding Feng, Ling Tong came to town and now is a sworn ally.
