Musou Orochi 2 Confirmed

(As a note, the game we call Warriors Orochi 2 was actually called Musou Orochi: Maou Sairen).

It's been a rumour for about a month or so, but "scans" are out that confirm its existence and more info.

what we do know is that there are (at least?) 120 characters appearing, including the ones from SW3 and DW7. No word on Guo Jia, Wang Yi and Pang De (though I would assume they are, since DW7XL's been released before this game will come out).
It's going to be released both on XBox and PS3.
Release date seems to be set for December.
Goemon doesn't appear to be coming back.

Concept is “Hero Dramas in the Great Gathering”The storyline will feature things like Friendship, Romance and Betrayal.

Gameplay is still using the 3-man team format.
Co-op is still 2 players to avoid confusion.
New actions are added like the cooperational attack “True Combination Skill” and “Switch Combo” which launches continuous attack.

Main characters seem to be assembled from DW7 & SW3.
There will be a number of brand-new characters specifically for MO2.
There will be also characters from outside Musou series appearing.


Storyline: Generals that travel through time. The story begins with a decisive battle against a multi-headed serpent “Youja (Bewitching Serpent)”.

This serpent seems to be impossible to beat, but then Kaguya appears and uses her time travel ability to send the generals to the past in order to find a way to beat the serpent.

Character bonds can be increased by talking and holding banquets.
In the stronghold there is a weapon shop and a restaurant. Banquets are held in this restaurant.

Scenario-customizing “Musou Battlefield” mode.
Players can customize existing scenarios and then upload them to the server.
When the other players are downloading it, after playing the stage they can give impression comments on the edited stage.
Kaguya’s seiyuu is Makishima Yuki (aka. Nu Wa). Her weapon is that tree branch

Woke up to seeing this news on Facebook and I have to say that I'm ridiculously excited. I really enjoyed the Orochi games and seeing the new DW/SW characters in that environment will be awesome. I kind of wish they'd recycled the DW5/SW2 character designs again since I really prefer those appearances/portrayals to DW7's/SW3's. Either way, this game will probably be awesome so I find that I shouldn't complain too much.

For what it's worth, there's a possibility that characters will have costume changes:



One or two might be colours, but Sima Zhao has those little icons next to his name that denoted a costume change in the previous titles.

I hear you - I wanted a last hurrah with One True Ren to Buckler Smash Them All, even if he got nerfed from WO2/MOZ godhood. At least enough of my favorite DW and SW characters are still awesome - Lu Meng/Xiahou Yuan/Katsuie Shibata will be the new Gruff 'n Scruff Triumvirate - and a fresh story scenario has plenty of potential for lulz. WO was surprisingly good with bringing out nuances of personality and including a load of hidden interactions to discover. I hope the weapon customization is as enjoyable as it was in the original games, and I hope the scenario editor is fun to play with as well - I really want custom dialog, though obviously it would have to be silent. All my crack pairings in full glory... *Sima Yi cackle*
