You know what? We don't get enough activity here. So I'm going to attempt to make a nice long post. Whether people take any notice is another matter, but I shall have a go. I love DW and it deserves an active community.

Although it's been out for a while now, I am going to talk about Empires. I think it's rather good - there are improvements to be made of course, but it was worth the money. The fact that you can actually station generals in individual areas is cool (although I tend to swear a lot when an area of mine is attacked and there's nobody there) and I LOVED the fact that you can actually order your allies around. So they don't try and attack a base when the entire enemy army has closed in on your main one, for example (which I have to admit can happen when I play on Hard... X3).

Being a firm fan of Dynasty Warriors crack and humour, though, made EVERY scene with either Lu Xun or Zhang He great. The Lu Xun pyromania joke that begun in the fandom has truly spread to Koei, who now get our favourite fire-person to reference fire in some way in practically every scene. I particularly liked it when he named his 5 main generals the 'Five Flame Generals' when I played with him as ruler. Trust me, at the rate it's going DW6 will include a scene where Lu Xun's pyromania causes him to accidently set fire to his own camp. ^^;

Becoming an Emperor is a bit of a pain, though. Because I'm very impatient and like to get things done quickly, I have never got an Emperor ending (despite having maxed out almost every general). Sad, isn't it? I know how to, but the process is soooo drawn out. Getting the Good one seems particularly annoying. Maybe I'll just play as Liu Bei and go for the Bad ending at some point, just because. Being evil with the evil people just isn't as fun. >3

While I'm here, I would also like to mention my Zhang He fanlisting - http://www.hour-of-destiny.org/zhanghe/ - which needs love. ONLY 13 MEMBERS! I know he has more fans than that. Please join and show love! It's also going to be a shrine, so any talented fanartists with donations to make will be eternally loved. Junyi will love you, like she loves the Art of War crew (I still miss it). I miss you all, you know. Some of you I haven't chatted to in AGES!

Since I haven't had the money for 5 Empires, and didn't like 4 Empires terribly much so I never bought 5. The Lu Xun stuff makes me very, very happy. It's nice that they do a little bit of fan servicing in that respect. Now I'm gunna have to at least rent it :)


Did they add the Japanese voices in Empires? And even if they did, does he still have the same english one? I love Lu Xun's english VA. Speaking of voices, what do you think of Sun Ce's newer english voice?

Koei are excellent for fan servicing. It's not just with Lu Xun either, although he's the most obvious one. X3 So yes! Rent it, if only to play it through with Boyan. :D

I haven't a clue on the Japanese voices, BUT some characters seems to have different English voice actors. Lu Xun's is the same, and it suits him so well! And... actually, I love Sun Ce's new voice... ^^; Good or bad thing?

I feel as though I should send Lu Xun's VA a fan letter to try and keep him on, I think his voice is perfect for him. Haahahaha, well I sorta know Sun Ce's new voice. He's an excellent actor whom I am following the career of (http://www.yurilowenthal.com), and voices a lot of things in anime dubs and games. If you've played the Prince of Persia games Sands of Time or Two Thrones, you would know him as the Prince :) I think he's fabulous as Sun Ce, but I'm biased as love his work and I love Sun Ce. XD (I think he also told me he did Zhang He. He mentioned he thought doing the whole butterflies thing was amusing to watch, and the dance. lolz the dance.)

That's be rad :) :) :) I wanna make a Zhang He artwork to put up with the others first though :D

Wooh! Now I know why Sun Ce's new voice was so instantly attractive. I do indeed play POP, I have all of them and am a great fan. His voice was definitely the best one for Mr. Prince.

LOLZ THE DANCE? I die of laughter everytime I see it. XD

Anyway, I really like that Empires is a two player game. My brother and I used to play fight over who got to play what in 4 and ended up using versus mode to duke it out =P

i am a fan of zhang he form way back
before the games in the book and then later in romance of three kingdoms
when i found him in dw4 i was kinda suprized by him and xu chu
oh and dian wei's slowness

but i love the zhang he speed

what would you change about empires?
i love it i think its great but i think they cut them selfs short on the battle feilds n stuff cause five had some great battle feilds to use and they didn't reuse alot of them

oh and the seanaros cut off too soon

the evil emperor comes really easy and quick tho
the good one is the one that takes forever

and i have been meaning to post some findings about empires here but just haven't had the time so it hink i will
